Protests resumed among workers in Jordan following the government’s announcement to reduce public quarantine, without including any decisions to find a solution for day-care facilities.
Despite the decision to open most sectors and the return of male and female employees to their workplaces, the government maintained the decision to close schools, nurseries and summer clubs despite some complaints campaign and protests that spread across social media, from workers who do not know where to leave their children.
Nurseries’ owners also confirmed that their work is on the verge of collapse as a result of the long closing period, in addition to parents with older children who are calling for summer clubs to open.
All these demands, which were raised a few days ago, have further increased with the return of male and female employees to their work, which was faced by a silence from the government.
A shy statement was made a few days ago by the Minister of State for Information Affairs, Amjad Al-Adayleh, only for workers in the public sector and confirmed that work will be flexibely activated for them, and this raised a stir and questions about workers in the private sector and why the government did not consider their suffering.
