The management of the company ‘Delphi’ which specializes in the manufacture of optical fibers located in the industrial zone Harba in the Moroccan city of Tangier, has reported 19 confirmed coronavirus cases among its workers.
After verifying the infection of one of the workers, the health services in Tangier conducted 1632 test of the company’s workers to discover the possible contagion of infection to 19 other workers from the same company.
The company’s management announced in a press release that the local health authorities are now in charge of treating the infected workers, while placing all who have been in touch with them under quarantine to ensure their safety.
In the same statement, the company’s management announced its intention to provide the media with all data and information related to the epidemiological situation within its factories and its complete willingness to coordinate with the Moroccan authorities in order to prevent the spread of the virus among its workers.
To date, Morocco has recorded more than 7.000 COVID-19 infections and 200 deaths, whilst 4.880 people among these have recovered.
