Jordan: Development of Labor Inspection System

The Jordanian Ministry of Labor has signed a memorandum of understanding with the International Labor Organization (ILO) to develop a labor inspection system in Jordan.

work that respects the provisions of the International Labor Agreement No. 81 of 1947.

This Memorandum of Understanding comes in the context of improving and developing the labor inspection system in order to establish a decent work environment in the private sector and organizing the Jordanian labor market.

The development process will adopt an electronic system to facilitate the work of labor inspectors and can at the same time ensure the oversight of the Ministry of Labor and the parties involved on the proper functioning of operations’ inspection.

In this context, the coordinator of ILO’s programs in Jordan announced that this cooperation will bear fruitful within two years and will lead to complete control in monitoring violations and regulating the Jordanian labor market.
