As it was previously expected, the Facebook administration has turned remote work from a mere exception to a rule. Mark Zuckerberg, founder of the world’s most popular social media platform, Facebook, announced during a public meeting with his employees that half of the employees of the Facebook company will be forced to work from their homes permanently for a period that maybe up to ten years.
Observers stressed that this decision will be the whistle to announce a new model for the world of work and heralds a formal talk about the entry into force of “future careers” and the consequences of such decision on professional relations, employee rights and could cause a decline in labor demand.
45.000 employees from different countries of the world work for the Facebook company that intends to recruit an additional 10.000 people by the end of the year 2020.
