Algeria and Morocco: Renault Car Company at Risk of Disappearance

French Minister of Industry announced that Renault, the car maker company, is fighting for survival, explaining that ‘Renault can disappear’, adding that it badly needs two billion euros pending a merger with Nissan.

According to French economic sources, the company is moving towards closing four industrial sites in France that employ more than 2.600 workers as part of an austerity plan that ends at the beginning of next June.

Today the question about the fate of the industrial units in Algeria and Morocco has come to surface in the case of the failure of the austerity plan and the collapse of the French manufacturer ‘Renault’.

It is also necessary to note that the company employs 2016 workers in its industrial unit in Oran, Algeria, with an estimated production capacity of 200.000 cars annually, versus to 240.000 cars annually in Morocco.
