Morocco: Companies Forcing their Workers to Risk their Lives

The registration of pandemic clusters in a number of companies in Casablanca did not discourage some employers from requiring workers to return to work in a manner that was not without threats at times.

Some export companies specialized in the manufacture of shoes have contacted their workers who survived the virus to urge them to return to work after they’ve been spared from the virus by distancy during the past week, the date which had many records of infections within these industrial units.

The same companies have resorted to reassuring workers by affirming their respect for sterilization procedures and providing masks to protect them from the risk of infection at a time when the Moroccan authorities announced the extension of the public quarantine till next June 10.

It is reported that Morocco has recorded more than 7.000 infections since last March.
