Tunisia: 2390 Institutions Were Affected Due to COVID-19

According to the Ministry of Finance, the number of institutions that registered on the online platform for support to the institutions affected by the repercussions of the COVID-19 global pandemic crisis reached 2390 on Friday, 14 May 2020.

 

The Tunisian Finance Minister stated that the platform registered several demands, 61% of which were concerning taxation procedures and 39% on financial procedures.

 

The Ministry of Finance has devoted an integrated team of experts in taxes, finance, informatics and programming specifically in charge of handling these files to accelerate the coordination of support and to provide assistance measures for these institutions.

 

It is important to note that the Ministry of Finance approved 200 million dinars (80 million dollars) as a first payment to help these institutions, after transferring 174 million dinars.

 

For the fifth consecutive day, Tunisia did not report any coronavirus cases, with 770 recovered cases, 45 deaths, and 1032 cases in total.
