Al-Zamil Steel company in the fifth industrial zone on the Oases road refused to implement the Prime Minister’s decision to give leave and allow rotation to its employees and workers.
The company is still operating at full capacity without applying preventive measures to combat the new Coronavirus.
Press reports confirmed that the company’s employees filed several complaints to implement the decisions issued by the Egyptian government, especially regarding workers, their suffering during the Coronavirus crisis as well as their fear for their children.
One of the employees of the company revealed to “Cairo 24”, refusing to mention his name, that the company is operating at full capacity, stressing that no exceptions have been made for mothers who have children under the age of 12, and it was not agreed to work at home or even reduce the number of workers, which led them to taking regular leave at their expense.
One of the workers explained that they had to return to work for fear of liquidating the company and them taking advantage of the conditions. Also, a night shift at the factory on October 6 was added to the usual day work, due to the ban, contrary to all instructions of the Ministry of Health, which could further lead to the spread of the pandemic.
Earlier, 350 employees of the Saudi company, Sira Tourism, sought help due to their exposure to arbitrary dismissal by the company’s management because of the lack of work during this crisis.
