“GARTEX” company in the province of Ben Arous, expelled 56 workers, including members of the Basic Union and the advisory committee of the institution, an arbitrary expulsion that was made simply due to their protest in demand for their rights.
The company’s workers have not been paid for two months, according to the official page of the Tunisian General Labor Union (UGTT) on Facebook.
The “GARTEX” Company is a German / Dutch company that employs about 900 workers.
The details of the story date back to February, when workers demanded the respect of the conditions of occupational health and safety protection entitled 2019, respect for the right to union work, review of production standards, review of occupational classification and collection benefits.
These demands were rejected by the administration and punished by workers, according to “Echaab” newspaper.
