Bahrain: The Social Security Authority Started the Transfer of Support Funds to the Private Sector

The CEO of the General Authority for Social Insurance in the Kingdom of Bahrain confirmed that the wages support amounts for the month of April will be transferred to the owners’ accounts on Thursday.

Iman Mustafa Al-Mirbati indicated that this comes in implementation of government directives to complete the payment of salaries of Bahraini workers in the private sector for a period of 3 months (April, May, June) from the unemployment insurance fund, within the financial and economic package to provide the necessary liquidity to the private sector According to the Bahraini News Agency Banna.

Al-Mirbati explained that the authority has completed all procedures for depositing the amounts in the accounts of employers who registered online to benefit from government support, who accounted for 87 % of the total employers.

AL-Mirbati also said that the percentage of beneficiaries of Bahraini workers in the private sector is 96 %, and the amounts for the month of April were deposited in the accounts of employers on the specified date in accordance with the time plan set for implementation, provided that employers will pay wages to Bahraini workers according to the monthly payment of wages.

She indicated that the authority will provide the opportunity to register online from Saturday, April 18, to Monday, April 20, for employers who wish to benefit from wage support and have not previously registered and who constitute 13% of all employers in order to ensure access Support for all Bahraini workers.

Iman Al-Mirbati also noted that the authority is fully prepared to cooperate with all concerned parties, as employers or Bahraini workers can communicate with the authority through the Communications and Services Center on the number 17000707 or through the national system of proposals and complaints (communication) in case of any complaint or note they have about Business procedures as of Saturday, April 18.

At the beginning of this month, the Minister of Labor and Social Development in the Bahraini government, Jamil bin Muhammad Ali Humaidan, said that the government is sponsoring the salaries of citizens in the private sector at a value of 215 million dinars within 3 months (April, May, June), as part of the procedures to provide the necessary liquidity for the private sector to deal With the effects of the current situation and the mitigation of the social and economic impacts of the consequences of the global pandemic of the Coronavirus.

The Minister indicated that the beneficiaries are registered with the Social Insurance Authority until the end of February and that these salaries will be paid through the treasury of the unemployment insurance fund.
