The Tamkeen Center for Legal Aid and Human Rights recently released a report, in which it clarified the real situation of migrant workers of different nationalities between March 18 and April 2, and their suffering as they are deprived of the minimum requirements for living as they no longer have incomes in light of the COVID19 outbreak.
The report monitored the conditions of these workers, through phone interviews, and contacted them via the center’s social media; Facebook and WhatsApp, confirming that there were no cases of administrative deportation or detention.
The report tackled the workers’ living conditions, after suspending work in public and private facilities, except for vital sectors, whether they were holders of work permits or not. It also stressed the economic impact of the ban on migrant and Jordanian workers and employers, in light of the scarcity of solutions to protect them in these difficult circumstances, especially the irregular ones, and work permits holders.
