Dhi Qar governorate's tanker drivers threatened to completely shut down the oil refinery in protest at the responsible authorities in the province ignoring their demands and reducing transportation fees by the credit companies.
Drivers who have been in a sit-in for about 3 weeks demanded that the price of transporting a ton be 17 thousand dinars, that the allowance for the shortage be not less than 400 kilograms.
They also demanded the fine price of 100 kilograms to be 20 thousand dinars, and that their entitled holidays should be 5 days. They also demanded a ban on loadibg for returning cars.
