The Minister of Labor and Social Development Jamil Humaidan confirmed that the unemployment rate in Bahrain stabilized at 4% at the end of 2019, hence making unemployment rates in Bahrain at safe and stable levels.
In a special statement made to “Gulf News”, Humaidan stressed that the ministry has no intention to change the current system and mechanisms used for insurance against unemployment.
“There has been an improvement in the benefits of the unemployment recently”, noted Humaidan.
The Minister also revealed that more than 9.000 Bahrainis were employed through the program that was launched in February out of nearly 20.000 Bahrainis.
