Press reports confirmed that the new director of SOGENAV of the Senegal River Investment Organization, former minister Ba Yahya Boukar, had issued a decision to fire about 20 Mauritanian workers from his company.
Reports highlighted that the separation took place on a sectarian basis, as the dismissed were all “good” speakers.
The director issued a quick memo dismissing them without providing justifications on the matter, although most of them were tenured in recent years.
