Ramallah: Demands to Raise the Minimum Wage

Palestinian workers and trade unions demanded the raise of minimum wage so that it would correspond with the national Palestinian poverty line which currently stands at 2470 NIS.

This came according to press reports following the periodic meeting of representatives of the General Federation of the Trade Unions of Palestine, the Union of Palestine Workers, the Union of Independent Syndicates, and the New Federation of Trade Unions, which took place on Sunday, in the House of the General Federation of Trade Unions in the city of Ramallah.

The union meeting addressed required amendments to Palestinian labour law 7 of year 2000, which has been in force in the national labour market. It also addressed the demands of the joint and unified union activities regarding the persistent workers issues and demands.
