The trade unionist and secretary-general of the union office of the employees of the "OTIS Morocco" company, Hakima Missouri, was attacked by the administration which froze her work in the company where she has worked for 30 years.
The administration indeed transferred Hakima Missouri towards Agadir, that is to say approximately 500 kilometers from the domicile of the concerned. The administration also expressed its intention to dismiss the union member for defending her legitimate right to union work; a right guaranteed by the Labor Code, the Constitution and international conventions.
This incident does not represent a first for the ‘OTIS Maroc’, which is known to fire its employees for the slightest error; a total of 49 employees, of those who worked for the former union office, were dismissed.
In this context, the Progressive Union of Moroccan Women, under the Moroccan Labor Union (UMT), denounced the unfair dismissal of Habiba Missouri after the administration tried to transfer her to distance her from her family. The Union condemned the practices committed against the trade unionist announcing her unconditional support with the complainant and with all the employees dismissed because of their union activities.
In addition, the Progressive Union of Moroccan Women announced a protest program against this violation of the law and trade union freedoms and in this context called on all activists to join this battle which kisses to reveal all unpopular and anti-social policies.
For its part, the Regional Union of Trade Unions of Casablanca denounced these practices of the administration which seeks to eradicate union work. The Regional Union expressed support with Habiba Missouri.
