The Office for Adult Education’s Independent Union of Workers was surprised by the response of the legal affairs administration of the Office concerning the complaint lodged with the Presidency of the Government, the Ministry of Labor and the Ministry Education and teaching against repressive decisions taken by the president of the Office against the president and the treasurer of the Syndicate.
The response approved the decision of the President of the Office to deprive the President of the Union of Exam Premiums. The response in question ignored the clear texts on the law of trade unions which guarantee the union immunity of the president and treasurer of the union.
In this context, the Office of Union Services explained that the answer is contrary to section 49 of the law on trade union organizations number 213 of the year 2017 which states that 'members of the Administrative Council of a trade union organization have the right, during their vacation period dedicated to union work, to their wages, promotions, bonuses, leaves and all the advantages from which their colleagues benefit.
For his part, the president of the Office for Adult Education explained that the president of the Independent Union, Ahmed Abedmardhi, did not get his bonuses because he is on vacation to deal with union activities. The president of the Office even filed a complaint against Ahmed Abedmardhi for "incitement to strike" which led to the arrest of the president of the Union on November 23.
In addition, the president of the Office published an administrative decree concerning the appointment of the treasurer of the Independent Syndicate as an official in the administration of Employees' Affairs to the presidency of the subsidiary while the person concerned was director of the administration of adult education in Ash-Sharqiyah governorate.
