Tunisia: Asphyxiation of 16 women workers from the leather factory in Beja

Civil Defense units in the Beja Governorate transported sixteen women workers from the leather factory to the regional hospital after they were suffocated. Initial data indicate that the asphyxiation was caused by an expired adhesive.

Union sources, for their part, said that one of the workers was pregnant and was taken into care for special medical care.

The factory was temporarily closed in order to prevent other cases of asphyxiation from occurring.
