Mohamed Amkraz, Minister of Labor and Professional Integration, said that combating child labor is a national priority. Amkraz explained that the ministry is collaborating with components of civil society; a collaboration for which he dedicated the sum of 3 million dirhams which made it possible to sign conventions with eleven associations specialized on the subject. However, experts have assured that the amount proposed by the ministry remains insufficient.
Mohamed Amkraz revealed, during a Senate listening session last Tuesday, that 400 children who have been taken out of work, including 278 boys and 162 girls under the age of 15 (104 who were in domestic work) . These children have been taken care of by specialized associations.
