Morocco: CDT speaks about the new development model

The Democratic Confederation of Labor (CDT) called, in its opinion on the new development model, to strengthen the central role of trade unions so that they are heard when strategic decisions are taken.

In this context, the CDT indicated that the success of the new development model depends on several points, including, among other things, respecting and strengthening the central role of unions by actively participating in the implementation of public policies and in supporting their role in the private sector. The CDT explained that the government is equally concerned by the unions saying that it must not simply involve them in negotiations on social issues but, above all, it must involve them in bilateral international conventions with economic and social consequences.

In addition, the CDT called for the central trade unions to be represented on the boards which take strategic decisions like the accounts boards and the administrative boards.
