Forty seven workers found their fatalities in work accidents in construction workshops in the occupied territories during the year 2019, which means a serious increase compared to the year 2018, when 38 workers found their fights and 36 workers in 2017.
According to the "Arab 48" website, data and statistics show that about 200 workers, including about 40, were seriously injured and the others were moderate to minor in workplace accidents in 2019.
It should be noted that the Ministry of Finance of the Zionist occupation, recently, retracted its previous decision to impose sanctions on contractors who do not comply with the rules of security and safety in the workshops.
The Ministry had taken the decision after the increase in accidents in the building sites, which resulted in dozens of casualties and injuries.
The Office of the Accountant-General at the Ministry of Finance did not fulfill its obligation to prevent contractors who were found to have violated more than one item in the field of not providing safety, security and safety for workers at work sites from participating in government building tenders for a year.
It is worth noting that the work accidents increased at a dangerous rate, as the number of victims and injuries in the workshops, especially the construction branch, increased, and the majority of the victims of work accidents in the country are Palestinians and foreigners.
