Morocco: Calls for comprehensive processing of requests from the educational community

The national office of the National Teaching Union, part of the Democratic Confederation of Labor (CDT), called, during its last meeting, for the global processing of requests from the educational body in order to present clear and concrete answers to teachers whose representatives are to meet with ministry officials on January 21.

In a statement, the national office denounced the salary levies carried out from the strikers and explained that the days of the strike cannot be considered as absences. In this context, the national office recalled that teachers have the right to join the administrative body without having a license and that they only need four years of experience (instead of the six currently required).

In addition, the Syndicate indicated that the current January 30 meeting, dedicated to basic status, will be the last resort to end the wait for teachers that has been going on since 2014 and has, in the same context, rejected all the laws and measures to privatize and market the education sector.
