Jordan: General Federation of Jordanian Trade Unions Calls for 300d as Minimum Wage

The General Federation of Jordanian Trade Unions called for a minimum wage of 300 dinars, which was refused by representatives of the Chamber of Industry. In this context, the online newspaper ‘Al Ghad’ reported that the tripartite labor committee is seeking to raise the minimum wage to 280d.

For his part, the Minister of Labor recently declared that the question of raising the minimum wage will be studied differently and that the question of the quality of the productive sector will be taken into consideration. He added that the commission, which will hold a second meeting tomorrow Tuesday, has not yet made its decision on the new increase. If the commission does not succeed in fixing the amount of the increase in the minimum wage, this decision will be taken by the Ministerial Council.

For his part, the president of the General Federation of Jordanian Trade Unions, a member of the tripartite commission, said that the commission was studying a detailed inquiry drawn up by the Social Security Fund into the details of workers' salaries. employees of Jordan.
