The Lebanese newspaper Al Akhbar unveiled a new agreement signed between the city of Ramallah’s Business Authority and the Zionist entity regarding the entry of more workers from the Gaza Strip into the occupied lands. The newspaper said, citing sources in the court, that the occupying forces agreed to bring 5,000 workers from Gaza into the West Bank and into the occupied lands.
The entry of workers will go through the granting of a commercial permit which will only be granted after a deep security investigation and far from any media treatment. The same sources revealed that the Zionist occupation promised to bring in 10,000 workers soon. However, the City of Ramallah’s Business Authority has assured that there are only initial approvals for applications filed without giving any figures.
It is worth noting 120,000 workers in the Gaza Strip were working on occupied land before 2007, when the Zionist occupation imposed encirclement and prohibited the workers concerned from all activities on occupied land. The encirclement of the Gaza Strip has increased unemployment and poverty rates in the city.
