The pressure and advocacy department in the Union of Agricultural Work Committees revealed that the Zionist occupation forces continued to violate the rights of fishermen through direct and indirect attacks on them.
The union confirmed that through its fishermen committees, 8 violations and direct attacks were documented during December 2019, which were shooting and pumping water towards the boats.
These attacks resulted in the loss of dozens of fishing nets belonging to 8 fishing boats, in addition to partial damage to two boats.
The Department of Pressure and Advocacy suggested that the number of violations and attacks against fishermen decreased during the past month due to the decrease in fishermen entering the sea due to the frequent air depressions during this month, in addition to reducing the fishing area for several days, in addition to manipulating the fishing areas permitted by fishermen by the freedom of occupation.
