Workers of the "Umm Al-Iklil" cement factory located in the city of Tajerwine, (governorate of El Kef) , decided to go on strike on January 7.
Al-Shaab newspaper reported in its latest issue that the union party decided to strike because of the way the organization is operating and away from the rules of good governance and administrative responsibility, in addition to violating the legislation and laws in effect.
The newspaper reported that workers suffer from the absence of conditions for maintaining occupational health and safety and a clear violation of the right to union, as the factory suffers from a severe shortage of workers, which requires the undertaking of assignments immediately.
The administration insists on ignoring the implementation of the agreements concluded between it and the union party, and refuses to resume negotiations on its organizational side.
