Intertronic Company in Morocco: 300 families subject to loss and displacement

The regional union of the Greater Casablanca Syndicates, affiliated to the Moroccan Labor Union, called for urgent intervention after the expulsion of more than 300 workers and workers, after a sudden decision to close the company "Electronica".

In a communication, the union explained that the workers of the company were surprised after their return from the annual holiday on September 02, to close the company, which created grumbling and resentment among those affected by the unilateral and sudden decisions that negatively affected their financial, social and psychological condition and left them vulnerable to loss and displacement.

The Regional Union of the Greater Casablanca Trade Unions condemned "all practices and behaviors that strike in depth the right and freedom of association and the elimination of their rights and gains", calling on the local authorities to intervene urgently to equate the workers and workers of the company with the opening of the doors of "Electronic" and saving 300 families from loss and displacement.

The trade union body called on the responsible authorities to interfere and put an end to these practices, respect for the right and freedom of association, and the requirements of the Labor Code, charters and international conventions of the International Labor Organization that Morocco ratified.

Unionists in the company confirmed that they tried to communicate with the company’s management with the participation of officials from the labor inspectorate and also a national committee, but all attempts were unsuccessful, and they highlighted that despite the waiver of the affected people a number of rights, including reducing work hours, which would deny them the benefit of the right to compensation for the loss of work, except The company's management rejected all reconciliation attempts to compensate its users who had been made homeless.
