The police force and the National Guard's violence against women units registered more than 45,000 complaints filed by women victims of violence, while the toll-free number received more than 8,000 similar complaints. This data was confirmed by the woman in charge of the fight against violence against women in the Ministry of Women's Affairs, Hanen Benzarti.
In a statement to Mozaique FM radio, Benzarti said the ministry has updated the strategy to combat violence against women by training officers of the various structures responsible for the proper implementation of the law.
