Algeria: Workers of eight workers in water companies demand wage increases

Trade unions representing workers from eight companies under the Ministry of Water Resources have called for wage increases and bonuses of 6,500 Algerian dinars. The unions have threatened to start protest movements in case of refusal of their requests. The demand for the wage increase is part of the "Algériennes des Eaux" convention.

The minutes of the agreement stipulate that the workers classified between the 7th and the 14th class will have to benefit from an increase of 6500 dinars, the workers classified between the 15th and the 19th class will have to profit from an increase of 5500 dinars while than the workers of the 20th class an increase of 4000 dinars.

The agreement also has a new seniority bonus ranging from 80 to 90%, a food bonus of 420 dinars and a premium of the housewife worth 4000 dinars.

The companies concerned by this agreement are 'Algerian Water', the National Office of Sanitation, 'SIAL', the National Agency for Dams and Transfers, the National Agency for Management integrates water resources, 'SIAO', 'SIOUR' and the National Water Resources Agency.
