The Egyptian police have arrested two individuals accused of having set up a business specializing in overseas recruitment, so that in reality it is a scam. Security sources have in this context said that many young people who seek to go abroad to work were victims of this mafia who, through this company, steals their money by promising them to be hired in Arab countries.
The first investigations revealed that two graduates, one of whom is already classified as dangerous to the police and has a total of 35 scam cases, and residing in Cairo and Giza, are behind this venture.
For their part, local media reported, citing police sources, that defendants promise their victims workstations without any authorization. Stakeholders advertised positions with attractive salaries in different Arab countries, asked for money in exchange for leaving before the victims found them.
Investigations have revealed that, recently, the defendants created a false employment service, a company based in Giza, that allowed them to exercise their scam. Stakeholders were identified through receipts and other data belonging to victims.
Three Egyptian citizens, victims of this scam, claimed that the defendants took between 3 and 4 thousand pounds, for each person, as employment expenses to Arab countries.
The first individual was arrested and confirmed the facts while the second is still wanted by the police.
