The Egyptian newspaper 'Mada Egypt' said that an officer, dressed in civilian clothes, arrested journalist Chadi Zlat a few days after the publication of an article on the recruitment of the President of the Republic's son in Russia. In a statement, the newspaper explained that the journalist was arrested at his home where he was accompanied by his wife and daughter.
In the statement, the newspaper said the journalist's wife revealed that her husband was arrested at the Gizi City Security Branch except that the journalist's officials failed to contact him. 'Mada Egypt' added that this arrest is part of the campaign carried out by the Egyptian authorities against the press and in this context called for the release of the journalist.
The arrest of Chadi Zlat came a few days after the publication of an article quoting two sources of general information that claimed that Mahmoud Sissi, son of the President of the Republic, was recruited in an Egyptian delegation in Russia without it having any qualification. However, the sources did not specify the duration of the mission of the son of the President of the Republic who has never completed an administrative mission.
Citing a government source, the newspaper said that Mahmoud Sissi, a general intelligence official, will be a military envoy from Egypt to Russia. This appointment will take effect in 2020.
