The state security prosecutor ordered the arrest of trade union activist Rezq Khalil for 15 days in the context of investigation number 1475 of the year 2019 brought against him for charges of 'belonging to a terrorist group, the spread of drugs and the use of false national profiles to spread false information '.
Rezq Khalil and his Defense Committee found that these accusations are unfounded and accused Jebali Mraghi, president of the General Union of Land Transport Workers, of being behind this case and following a report issued by the Commission's Commissioners in his favor to cancel the articles of the motion of the law of circulation which obliges the workers to pay the contributions in favor of the General Syndicate to be able to obtain the driving licenses which are specific to them.
For its part, the Office of Union Services in Egypt issued a statement in which it stated that the arrested trade unionist disappeared the day before yesterday while he was in a cafe in Cairo, near his home, around 23H. Following this, Rezq Khalil's brother contacted the Attorney General and the Minister of the Interior to try to trace his brother.
