The Court of Cassation, the highest court of the Kingdom, has issued a verdict confirming that all rights and benefits granted by the employer to workers enjoy full legal protection through the Labor Code. In its verdict, issued by its general authority, the Court of Cassation explained that any abandonment of these rights and benefits by workers is not taken into account and does not deprive workers of claiming their rights.
In this context, the Jordanian Labor Observatory reported, citing the statement given by the lawyer Mamoun al-Zubaidi to the press agency 'Petra', that the verdict was pronounced following a complaint lodged by the employee 'SS' against the company 'ALT'. A verdict issued by the general authority of the Court under number 3640/2019 of 21/10/2019 and stipulating that all rights and benefits granted by the employer are protected by law and that any abandonment of the employee is not taken into account.
Mamoun al-Zubaidi explained that by this verdict, the Court of Cassation has reinforced a legal principle with lawyers, employees and employers. And to add that the complaint in question went through several stages before it was decided by the Court of Cassation. The lawyer applauded the verdict and explained that it reinforces the independence and neutrality of Jordanian justice.
