The 'Protect Me' Foundation, an application that allows rural women to benefit from social and medical coverage, has won the prize for the best renovated project; a prize awarded in the American city of Boston during an event held on November 9 and 10 current. The Foundation was chosen from among a hundred projects participating in the Arab Congress at Harvard Business School.
The Tunis Afrique Presse news agency reported, citing the executive chairman of the 'Protect Me' Foundation Maher Khalif, that Tunisia is the only Arab country that has participated in this contest, which is held every two years. One of the largest universities in the United States of America. Maher Khalif explained that despite being recent, the project won three awards on November 6, with the participation of Tunisie Telecom during the Financial Technology Festival of Abu Dhabi.
The President-Executive of 'Protect Me' said that the number of rural women enrolled in the project since May 2019 is 10,000 women, including 3,000 from the governorate of Kairouan. She added that this project is constantly attracting women farmers through the simplification of registration procedures for social security.
The application came into effect on May 2, 2019 with the aim of expanding the number of subscribers to the National Fund for Social Security (CNSS) for women farmers who work in difficult conditions.
The application is based on online payment to facilitate the subscription to the CNSS and this thanks to the signing of an agreement between the application 'Protect me', the CNSS and Tunisia Telecom on March 8, 2019.
By supporting this project, the Tunisian government is seeking to enroll 500,000 women farmers, who do not receive social security or health insurance, over the next five years.
