The Movement of Nurses and Medical Technicians of Morocco organized, last Saturday, a national protest march that went to the seat of Parliament from the headquarters of the Ministry of Health in Rabat. In a statement, the Movement explained that this event is part of the movement of support for victims of legal loopholes and lawsuits including, recently, the two midwives Larache and nurses of the psychiatric department of Beni Mellal'.
The protesters denounced the recent legal proceedings against health professionals and the existing legal loopholes and recalled that the Ministry of Health has still not issued the classification of skills, trades and organizational texts to protect the paramedic staff and determine the role of each.
The Movement of Nurses and Medical Technicians of Morocco also calls for the establishment of a system of compensation for the risks of the trade and the revision of the criteria of promotion. The Movement is also calling for the issuance of a Trades Ranking, the creation of a National Nursing Authority and the recruitment of all new graduates.
