The Faculty of Science and Technology officials held a protest rally in front of the university's presidency on Sunday before calling for improvements to the terms of their health insurance, which is currently limited to the care offered by the King Abdullah University Hospital.
In this context, the Jordanian Labor Observatory reported, citing protesters' testimonies, that employees are forced to wait for months to get appointments and that they are usually received by resident doctors who are Offices of medical specialists.
The protesters called for the revision of the health insurance of the Faculty so that administrative officials can benefit from the 'ISO' bonus offered to the members of the education authority under the 'ALPT' program; a national financing program that allows those concerned to obtain a premium of around 450 dinars. The employees also claimed their entitlement to 30 days of annual vacation instead of the current 21, not to count Fridays and Saturdays on vacation pay and the creation of a pilot faculty for the children of those concerned.
Officials from the Faculty of Science and Technology also called for a review of the accounting mechanism for the years of outsourcing and to reclassify civil servants and agricultural employees on the list of difficult trades at the social security level.
