Mauritania: Secondary school teachers protest

Last Thursday, high school and technical teachers in Mauritania organized a protest rally and suspended work for 4 hours from 10 am to 2 pm. protesters gathered in front of regional administrations while teachers in the capital gathered in front of the headquarters of the Ministry of Secondary Education.

Teachers called for improvements in their working conditions, wage increases and bonuses and housing.

The Teachers' Coordination has called for the discontinuation of classes as part of its series of protests.
