Mauritania: Police violently crack down on student rally

On Tuesday, the Mauritanian police assaulted students who were gathered in front of the Ministry of Higher Education making a few wounded who were transferred to the hospital.

The students protested, in front of the ministry of guardianship, against the government which decided to forbid to the bachelors of more than 25 years to enroll in the faculties.

In this context, the Prime Minister explained that the government seeks to make a decision in favor of students, which made it clear that the Ministerial Council, meeting last Thursday, would decide on the issue except that it did not take place.
