Tens of thousands of Lebanese have organized a large human chain that has crossed the country from its north to its south; this chain is part of the social movement hostile to the Lebanese political class and which has been going on for 12 days. Through this human chain, protesters sought to symbolize national unity beyond any ethnicity or otherwise.
The media reported that thousands of citizens began to position themselves on the main roads to prepare the chain that covered about 170 kilometers through the south of Tire to the north of Tripoli via martyrs in the center of Beirut. The chain should go through all the sit-in places.
Lebanese protesters occupied the streets of the country on Saturday evening holding the Lebanese flags despite the presence of the army when a crisis issue has not yet been found.
After a few confrontations with the Army, the National News Agency said Sunday that calm has returned to the streets in the presence of soldiers.
The Army announced to have fired in the air during confrontations with demonstrators in Tripoli and that five soldiers and some civilians were injured. The Army also announced that its leaders have met with law enforcement officials to discuss the current situation in Lebanon and protests and road cuts that continue. The leaders studied the possible maneuvers that will facilitate the movement of citizens and the protection of public property.
