The newspaper 'Achaab' reported that the Regional Labor Union of Monastir governorate, the basic unions of municipalities and the General Federation of Municipal Agents, under the Tunisian General Labor Union (UGTT), decided to cancel the strike of municipal officials of Monastir scheduled for October 11 and 12.
The newspaper explained that the unions have agreed with the local authorities on eight main requests concerning respect for union work, the generalization of milk distribution for all workers, the spread of social bonuses, the application of decrees on occupational health and safety, the generalization of the professional uniform, the opening of recruitment and promotion competitions for all corps and the formation of a joint committee between the supervisory authorities and the General Union of work to study the different issues relating to classification and reclassification.
In addition, it was agreed to organize bilateral meetings between the trade union and the municipal councils to discuss the various issues relating to trade union work and the rights of municipal officials with a view to creating a favorable atmosphere for work and ensuring rights and security of the agents.
In addition, it was decided to form a joint committee between the supervisory authorities, the municipal councils and the regional union (for the representatives of the agents) to study the different issues relating to classification and reclassification.
