The five education unions announced their support with the national strike to be held on October 23 and 24, 2019 by contract teachers. The five organizations explained that the contract file was not dealt with and that the parent ministry and the government did not resolve this complicated issue despite the two meetings held with the education unions during the course of the year 2019.
In a joint statement, the unions explained that the ministry has not respected the old commitments made to teachers' representatives and that it has taken payroll taxes, repressed members of the National Commission, deprived teachers of their allowances family and promotions.
The five unions said they intended to make every effort to defend public education and called on the government and the Ministry of Education to cancel all unfair and arbitrary measures against teachers.
