The company 'Taxis Bagdad' dismissed about 250 employees who were not even registered in the Social Security when they were recruited, which was considered by the observers and by the official representations of the workers as a serious violation of the law.
In this context, the General Federation of Trade Unions and Employees in Iraq explained in a statement that the Labor Code regulates the employment relationship between the employer and the employee and that both parties are bound to respect it. The Federation affirmed that the Labor Court will take the necessary measures following these violations.
In the same vein, the General Federation of Trade Unions and Employees in Iraq accused the company 'Taxis Baghdad' of being totally responsible for this violation and called on the employees to organize and support each other.
