Morocco: Pending problems of local community employees in Morocco

The Moroccan National Union of Workers and Employees of the Moroccan Federation of Labor (UMWC) has called on earthen groups to launch a 24-hour national warning strike to protest against the situation in the civil service and the general conditions of the community workers.

In a statement, the Union criticized the Ministry of Interior regarding its stance on social dialogue, noting that it is "out of the dialogue methodology" by referring the project of the Social Works Foundation despite its importance to the last Ministerial Council, without abiding by its commitments regarding union proposals.

The Union also spoke about the rights of workers in the hygiene sector subject to authorized management in a number of cities, which for months have been struggling without having an answer for their just and legitimate demands, on the top of which comes demarcation, stability in work and payment of wages.

Moreover, the Union called for settling the situation of officials, who received administrative promotions, whether on the basis of competence or seniority, failure of the Ministry of Interior to settle its financial deficit and renewed its rejection of the draft law on strike, which they described as "suppressive and regressive" and strongly criticized the cadre law number 17.51 relating to education and training considering it as "further liquidation of the public school".
