Unemployment in Jordan rises to 19.2 percent

The unemployment rate in Jordan rose to 19.2% during the second quarter of the current year 2019, compared to 18.7% in the same period last year.

According to data from the State Department of Public Statistics, the unemployment rate among males was 17.1 per cent and about 27.2 per cent among females.

According to the Department, the survey results showed that the unemployment rate was high among university graduates, at 25.9 percent compared to other educational levels, indicating that 56.1% of the total unemployed are high-level graduates, and that 43.9% of the total number of unemployed had educational qualifications less than secondary school.
