Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi ratified Thursday the law on social insurance and pensions. The text was published last Thursday in the official journal.
The law included a chapter dedicated to social welfare for pensioners so that they can benefit from several services thanks to the state's commitment to put in place mechanisms guaranteeing social solidarity and allowing participation in public life for a decent life for retirees.
According to the law, pensioners will be able to receive their pensions at home in the event of illness and old age, to benefit from means of entertainment (travel, theater and others) and to obtain additional benefits and services.
The new law has also made available many facilities for retirees, such as lower prices for public transport, subscriptions to clubs, museums, movie theaters, etc. public hospital care, for travel organized by the administrative apparatus or other governmental institution (inside and outside Egypt), reductions in airline tickets and other bank facilities.
