The General Federation of Agriculture, under the umbrella of Tunisian General Labor Union (UGTT), has called on the Ministry of Agriculture to assume responsibility and to intervene immediately to stop violations at the Agriculture Center of Chott Meriem and, above all, the injustice suffered by the trade unionist Khadouja Trabelsi, secretary-general of the central union of the center.
In its latest issue, the 'Achaab' newspaper reported that trade unionists at the Center have been repressed and harassed for a long time despite the various interventions of the Federation and the Regional Union of Labor of Sousse; several sessions were devoted to the question without any result.
In a previous statement, the executive board of the General Federation of Agriculture had denounced the practices of the administration of the center that even bring legal cases against trade unionists.
The newspaper 'Achaab' has noted that there are parties that do not want to see tensions subside and which continue to violate the law.
