Local authorities in the city of Saidia have decided to ban protester rallies for workers from the Ozone Company to be held in front of the governorate headquarters after the dismissal of 19 workers last Thursday.
The city authorities sent a note to the union's union office, under the Moroccan Labor Union (UMT), to inform that the protests were banned for security reasons while explaining that the organization of this kind of movements in the city represents a violation of the calm of the city especially in a place that attracts citizens and tourists.
This decision comes as the trade union office of the company 'Ozone' has decided to organize protests for Thursday and Friday after the failure of negotiations with the administration. Negotiations on, among other things, late pay, the repression of workers' rights and the firing of 19 workers who refused to sign fixed-term contracts.
