Libya: six Egyptian workers abducted

Armed individuals have sequestered six workers from Samalut town, Minya governorate, in the city of Bengazi for 18 days.

Egyptian media reported that the kidnapped are: Mohamed Hassan Ali Kamel, Badri Hassan Kamel Ali, Jamal Abdenaceur Kamel Ali, Mohamed Kaoud Abouazayam Mazen, Walid Montaser Ali Kamel and Mahmoud Wahid Fathi.

The families of the abductees explained that the driver informed them that the kidnapping took place 18 days ago and that no other news has been communicated to them.

The families called on Egyptian law enforcement and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to intervene quickly to rescue their children and help them return to Egypt, claiming that the workers have been smuggled into Libya for more than a year to get decent jobs.
