The Turkish company 'BIM' dismissed Moroccan workers after they founded a union office and joined the Democratic Labour Confederation (CDT)
Trade union sources confirmed, in a statement to the electronic newspaper 'Hespress', the dismissal of 18 drivers of the rigged company who were responsible for transporting the goods from a depot in the city of Mohammadia to other cities where the company is activated. According to the same sources, the company's administration has used a judicial officer to announce to the drivers their dismissal for making a serious mistake without citing it.
The drivers of 'BIM' are paid 4000 dirhams ($ 416) a month and work for long hours including the night. For its part, the regional office of the CDT in the city of Mohammadia addressed a correspondence to the regional director of labor to call him to intervene on behalf of the drivers explaining that this dismissal represents a serious violation of the constitutional right to union membership.
Trade unionists have said that the company refuses to have its employees unionized, while the drivers founded the union office to defend their rights to better working conditions. And add that the director of the company has threatened workers to close the company in Morocco explaining that 'BIM' only rent stores and stores and that his departure from Morocco can be done very easily.
Recall that Turkish society has been established in Morocco for a few years and that it currently runs about 470 stores in different cities of the country. 'BIM' leases stores near large homes and enjoys great support from the government of his country.
