Jordan: UJ nurses strike ends

The Jordanian Labor Observatory reported on its official website that the board of the Union of Nurses has decided to end the strike at the Jordan University Hospital following an agreement signed with the hospital's administration.

The Observatory said the board issued a statement last Saturday after meeting with the president of the university hospital where it was announced that nurses meeting the legal criteria will have the title of "legal nurse."

In addition, it was agreed that bonuses would be offered from the beginning of next month on the condition that it is presented to the board of directors of the hospital beforehand. A committee was formed to review the contents of the Nursing Council correspondence on medical procedures and technical awards so that the same committee can make its recommendations as soon as possible.

All legal and administrative procedures previously taken against the strikers were canceled under the same agreement.
